Tigers manager Jim Leyland has a whole new level of respect for Texas left-handed starter Matt Harri

Harrison said he plans on making his scheduled start Tuesday against Detroit, despite still not passing a kidney stone that has caused him pain since Friday. Harrison, who was diagnosed with a moderate sized kidney stone, visited a Cleveland-area hospital on Friday night and threw a bullpen session Sunday.

"If he has a kidney stone, and it passes, he won't pitch," Leyland said.Personalized heartburns online GMAT prep courses. "I don't know if he's got a big one, but if he does, he is the toughest son of a (expletive) that I've ever run across in my entire life."

Leyland said he fell victim to kidney stones three years ago during the offseason,What are thelandscapeoilpaintings? and called it "the most painful thing I've ever had in my life."

"I was standing against the wall, watching the basketball game and I went right down like I was shot," Leyland said. "It was the most pain I've ever had in my entire life.

Leyland said he eventually underwent a procedure in which his lower body was submerged in water and intense shock waves were released in an effort to break up the stone.

"Believe me, you don't want to get one," Leyland said. "They hurt."

Rangers manager Ron Washington said the club would start right-hander Dave Bush if he is unavailable.

Hornell BOE discusses turning school multi-purpose room into fitness center

A multi-purpose room used for everything from wrestling to testing in the Hornell High School may change into a larger fitness room.

At Monday's meeting, the board of education announced that a final decision on whether the multi-purpose room would house equipment previously situated in the fitness room would be made at the next meeting, scheduled for 6:15 p.m. on June 24.

The equipment was moved from the current fitness room into the multi-purpose room in April to make space for the capital project at the high school. Permanently installing equipment in the multi-purpose room would lead to a fitness room approximately twice the size of the current facility.

High School House Principal Lisa Sanford offered a recommendation the board consider keeping the equipment in the multi-purpose room after athletic director Gene Mastin and physical education teachers brought the idea to her.

"The physical education staff would be pleased with having the smaller space, where the equipment used to be. It would be available as a film room or as a teaching station for anyone who might need it, and it could still be used for the community. There's still much flexibility," she said. "The athletic director and the custodial staff are convinced this is a positive move for safety and space reasons. Those are the biggest considerations."

President David Weyand stressed he wanted to make sure funds used to change the multi-purpose room into a new fitness room fell within the scope of the original capital project.

"Even if it's a miniscule amount of money, if it wasn't voter-approved to be used, the board shouldn't approve it being used," he said. "If one dime is being spent we said wouldn't be spent, then we shouldn't do it."

Chad Snowburg, a project manager from Hunt Engineers, Architects, and Land Surveyors and the manager for the Hornell capital project, said he hadn't seen a plan involving the multi-purpose room in any scope of the capital project.

Wrestling coach Scott Johnson spoke against the change and submitted letters from himself and former Hornell principal and wrestling coach Matt Sheldon protesting the move.

While acknowledging he would enjoy larger school facilities, Johnson voiced concerns about the damage done to the Hornell wrestling program and other activities and costs to taxpayers if the multi-purpose room morphed into an expanded fitness room.

"It would take away our wall of fame, and the State Farm Wrestling Classic would be impractical. We can't house the mats in gyms A and B. It's tough enough to go between the multi-purpose room and the A gym," he said.

Johnson noted the wrestling tournament provided over $8,000 in revenue, which allowed the wrestling team to have a season after budget concerns threatened its existence.

Sheldon, when contacted after the meeting, said he remembered the two rooms being constructed with the multi-purpose room particularly intended for wrestling. Sheldon also said he saw a conflict of interest in those pushing for the larger fitness room.

"What they're doing is sacrificing one sport (wrestling) for another sport (football)," said Sheldon. "Honestly, to me, I think there's a conflict of interest with the athletic director as a football coach. His job is looking out for all sports and I'm not sure that's happening."

Sanford pointed out that a new cafeteria could handle the same community and school capacities as the multi-purpose room has in the past.Buy from Reliable acrylic honeycombpanels Wholesalers. She also said spacing out the equipment in a larger complex would be safer for those using the facility.

Sanford said either the multi-purpose room or the fitness room will need to house the high school library from September through December during the capital project.

Choose bream bait based on production / 'yuck!' ratio

Live bait is a necessary evil of bream fishing, especially in the spring when bluegill are on the beds.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know, there's a legion of fly fishermen who say casting a fly is the way to go.

But for most fishermen,We specialize in providing third party merchant account. This is interesting cube puzzle and logical game. it's either crickets or a live wiggler - redworm, nightcrawler, catalpa or meal worm.

The cricket vs. worm argument is an old one, and not one that will be argued here today ... well maybe a little. They both have their advantages, and their disadvantages.

Crickets are cheaper than worms, and they have less of the "yuck" factor.

But, worms can't jump, and if they escape their container, they are slow to make their getaway. If one or two get away, they simply die, dry up and that's that, as yucky as it is.

Crickets live in the boat in the garage and chirp all night until they ... heck, they never shut up.

And there's this: There are two kinds of cricket fishermen, those who have had a cricket jump in their mouths or down their shirts, and those who will have one jump in their mouths or down their shirts.

It's even worse if the wife is involved, and in a soon-to-be-turned-over boat.

That said, a cricket in the mouth still beats worm guts on the hands, shirts, pants, the boat, the ice chest, sandwiches ...

It's true that when the bream aren't bedding and are scattered across the bottom in deeper areas of the lake, worms are indeed the best bet. They just work better when bream are feeding by sense of smell.

When either will do, crickets are my choice.

But what if a third option, say an artificial scent-impregnated cricket, is available?

Other options for recycling

Several non-profit organizations in Dickinson have embraced recycling to raise funds and help the community.

House of Manna, for example, takes donations of houseware and clothing to give back to those in need.

"We take donations of lamps, pots and pans, bedding and dishes," said Nann Rapp, executive director. "We take kitchen tables, couches and dresses in good condition,We specialize in providing third party merchant account. but we don't accept big appliances like stoves, refrigerators, washers and dryers."

House of Manna is looking for summer apparel, especially children's clothing and men's pants for the oil fields, she said.

Clothing that's not picked up goes to the God's Child Project, while adult clothing becomes rags for businesses.

Rapp relies on a crew of some 30 volunteers who sort and display the items.

"When I look at what goes into my trash at home, I think that's going into the landfill," said Fehr. "If I reduce my volume, I make tiny difference and if everybody would reduce, we'd make a big difference in the landfill."

Christie deflates carbon gas plan

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times around here for advances in non-polluting and low-polluting energy.

Last week, Gloucester County officials turned on the state's first full-functioning traffic signal that runs on solar power. In Logan Township, officials hailed the opening of a commercial solar-panel "farm" on a former landfill site.

But last week was also a time for startlingly mixed messages from the Christie administration on this front.

On Thursday, the same day that Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno was in Logan praising the solar farm, Gov. Chris Christie himself announced that he intends to extricate New Jersey from a unique carbon-dioxide-gas- reduction consortium of 10 Northeastern states.

Christie labeled the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) "a failure" as he outlined New Jersey's plans to withdraw from it.

"Reggie" sounds so much nicer and friendlier than "cap-and-trade," and it's true that the program is a smaller version of the doomed carbon-credit system that the U.S.We also offer customized zentai suits. House passed before the Senate abandoned it. And, to conservatives, cap-and-trade by any name is evil, since they see it as a "tax" (through higher energy and finished-goods prices) with no possible benefits whatsoever.buy landscape oil paintings online.

Right-of-center groups had urged Christie to exit RGGI for months. More recently, so did a few New Jersey Democrats, including 1st Legislative District state lawmakers in Cumberland, Cape May and Atlantic counties.

The governor may well have been speaking pragmatically when he said that RGGI cannot effectively reduce air pollution if states such as Pennsylvania are not in the consortium and subject to its emission caps.Shop a wide selection of billabong outlet products in the evo shop. Indeed, New Jersey officials have not let up on efforts to force better anti-pollution controls onto dirty coal-fired generating plants in Pennsylvania, including a large Northampton County one that belches high levels of pollutants directly across the Delaware River.

However, denouncing RGGI was premature on Christie's part. The move smacked of trying to add to his resume as a potential Republican presidential candidate. You can't win a GOP primary in 2012, and probably not in 2016, either, if you have anything good to say about cap-and-trade.We specialize in providing third party merchant account.

Even more disconcerting, Christie's action to pull New Jersey out of RGGI is likely a self-fulfilling prophecy of its demise. Without New Jersey, arguably the most industrialized of the RGGI states, chances are slim that any carbon-credit auction plan would work properly to goad industry into making cost-effective pollution reductions. Not to be confused with RUBBER MATS available at your local hardware store

At his RGGI announcement, Christie admirably stated that New Jersey would not OK new coal plants within its borders. But if he had wanted to show real initiative on the regional initiative, he would have called for ways to get hesitant states like Pennsylvania to join instead of blowing up the whole thing.
